Our specialty is to help customers purchase parts "finished to print."

This includes Castings, Machining and Finish Coating.

One of the most important aspects in finding the optimal casting process is correctly matching the part size, quantity and alloy type.  We match your needs with the foundry which has the correct equipment and capabilities to give the best casting value.

Process Selection Chart

processjpg.jpg (67579 bytes) The chart on the left  serves to help decide the casting process that best fits the requirement.

This is general in nature and your application must be discussed to find the best fit.

Our experience and relationships with the foundries we represent have developed over twenty years.  This allowed us to align ourselves with competent foundries which can best serve your casting needs.

Below are a couple of educational tools to help you understand the sand casting terms.

Sand Mold Schematic

An Inside Look at the Mold

The picture on the left illustrates a small "Squeezer" type mold with the pattern removed. This mold is ready to be poured with metal.

To make this mold the top (Cope) half of the flask is removed from the bottom (Drag) half. The matchplate (with half of the pattern on each side) is inserted between the Cope and Drag. The flask is then placed on the "Squeezer" with the Drag half in the upward position. The Drag is filled with sand, then rammed and jolted until the sand is settled. A board is placed over the top of the Drag and the mold is completely rolled over so the Cope half is face up. The Cope half is filled with sand then rammed and squeezed. Once the pouring hole, or "Sprue," is cut into the sand the Cope is lifted off the Drag and pattern is removed, leaving the mold ready for pouring.
